Minnesota Statute 13.82 governs what arrest data law enforcement must release to the public. Under this law, basic arrest information is available as soon as a person is booked. This includes the person's name, the time and date of arrest, the charges, and the arresting officer. St. Paul Police must provide this data upon request.

Inmate Search Ramsey County Inmates in Custody

The Ramsey County inmate search shows booking reports that are updated regularly. Each report includes the person's name, booking date and time, charges, and bail status. These are public records under Minnesota law. The ADC is located just steps from the St. Paul Police headquarters, so the booking process from arrest to jail happens quickly.

Booking reports from Ramsey County list the arresting agency, which helps you see which St. Paul Police division or unit made the arrest. If someone was arrested by the county sheriff rather than city police, that shows up as well. Use the online portal first. It's free and updated throughout the day. If you can't find what you need online, call the ADC at (651) 266-9350.

Note: Booking records show charges at the time of arrest. Charges can change after prosecutorial review. A booking entry does not mean the person was convicted.

What St. Paul Booking Records Contain

Booking releases in St. Paul follow the state data standards set by Minn. Stat. 13.82. This law says law enforcement must release certain data when asked. It also sets limits on what must stay private.

Public data in a St. Paul booking release includes:

  • Full name of the person arrested
  • Date and time of the arrest
  • Location of the arrest
  • Charges filed at the time of booking
  • Bail amount if set
  • Name of the arresting officer
  • Case or incident number

Some data is not public. Victim information, juvenile records, and certain investigative details are protected. Minnesota Statute 13.85 covers corrections and detention data and sets rules for what jails can share. If you're looking for information about a juvenile, separate rules apply and most data is closed to the public.

Jail capacity and inmate data is also governed by Minn. Stat. 641.05, which sets requirements for county jail operations in Minnesota. Ramsey County follows these standards for all inmates booked through the ADC.
