The HCDC uses two housing models. Direct Supervision housing is used for medium and maximum custody inmates, where a corrections officer works directly within the living unit. The Podular Remote Model is used for minimum custody and work release inmates, with staff managing the unit from a glass-enclosed master control room. Both models are common in modern Minnesota county jails.

How to Find Hubbard County Booking Releases

Hubbard County uses Pro Phoenix jail management software to track all bookings, holds, and releases. The system does not have a public-facing web portal that can be linked directly. The primary online tool for checking current custody status in Hubbard County is VINE at vinelink.com.

VINE connects to the Pro Phoenix system and reflects real-time custody data. You can search by inmate name or offender ID. If you want to be notified when someone is released or transferred, you can register for free alerts through VINE. Notifications can be sent by phone, text, or email. The VINE phone line at 1-877-664-8463 is available around the clock.

The Hubbard County Sheriff's corrections and communications page at co.hubbard.mn.us provides information on the Hubbard County Detention Center and how to contact the jail.

For anyone who wants to call directly, the booking room line at (218) 732-2512 is the most direct number for recent booking questions. The non-emergency line at (218) 732-3331 or toll-free at 1-888-732-3332 can also help route your call to the right person.

Note: Hubbard County does not maintain a standalone public web-based inmate roster. VINE is the recommended online method for checking current custody status.

What Booking Release Records Include

Hubbard County booking releases follow the public data rules in Minn. Stat. 13.82. This statute makes arrest data public as soon as someone is taken into custody. The required fields include the person's name, the date and time of arrest, the charges, and the arresting agency. VINE surfaces this data for all counties connected to its system, including Hubbard.

Private data held by the jail is a separate matter. Medical records, financial information about inmate accounts, and certain personal data are classified as private under Minn. Stat. 13.85. That information is not available to the public and cannot be obtained through a standard records request.

The Hubbard County Detention Center operates under Minn. Stat. 641.05, which sets the minimum standards for county jail operations in Minnesota. These standards govern how inmates are processed and documented, and they are the basis for the booking records that become public data.

Court Records and Statewide Tools

Once a Hubbard County arrest moves into the court system, the case is filed in the Hubbard County District Court and becomes searchable in Minnesota Courts Records Online (MCRO). MCRO is free and shows filed charges, hearing dates, case status, and dispositions. Prosecutors sometimes change the charges between booking and formal filing, so the MCRO record may differ from what appeared at booking.

The Minnesota BCA Criminal History System charges $8 per search and shows statewide conviction records. Hubbard County convictions appear in the BCA database after a case reaches final disposition. The BCA is better for researching a person's full criminal history than for checking on a current booking or recent arrest.

Hubbard County is in the 9th Judicial District of Minnesota. All cases from the county go through that district. If you look up a case in MCRO and do not find it right away, it may still be in the early processing stage before a formal charging document is filed.

Note: MCRO does not show bookings or arrests that have not yet resulted in formal charges being filed. Check VINE for current custody status before looking in MCRO for a case that may be very recent.

Inmate Services at the Hubbard County Detention Center

The HCDC provides programs including general education and other support services for inmates. The STS coordinator handles some of these programs and can be reached at (218) 732-2516.

Visiting, mail, and phone procedures are set by the facility and may change. Call the booking room at (218) 732-2512 or the non-emergency line at (218) 732-3331 to confirm current visiting hours and any requirements. Inmates at the HCDC can receive mail sent to the facility address in Park Rapids. Include the inmate's full name and booking number on any mail.

The jail programmer at (218) 732-2593 handles questions about inmate programs, scheduling, and other operational matters that go beyond basic booking inquiries. If you have a detailed question about an inmate's programming or schedule, that line is the right contact.
